Volunteers enhance the learning of our students at Stuart Baker Elementary School.  Here are some of the many ways to volunteer at our school:

*Breakfast Club

*Head Lice Team

*In the classroom

*Reading program

*Class Trips

*School Council

*Support for school events (e.g., skating, Open House, Fun Fair)

*In our library

Once you have decided that you want to volunteer, TLDSB does have a Board Policy and an Administrative Procedure that direct the procedure (ES-5001).

  1.  All volunteers must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check, PRIOR to volunteering.  Potential volunteers must first obtain the necessary paperwork from Alison Rae, our secretary.  This information then needs to be taken to the local OPP detachment.  Once the “check” is ready, you will need to pick it up at the detachment and return it to Alison Rae at the school.
  2. All volunteers must also sign a confidentiality form.  This form indicates that volunteers agree that information related to staff and/or students are held in confidence and adhere to the Freedom of Information and Protection Privacy Act.
  3. All volunteers are to sign in the office upon their arrival to the school and must wear their volunteer ID tag which will be provided for you.
